THE WALKING DEAD
Graphic Novels Volume 1 & 2
Author(s): Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore (Illustrator)
Rating: 4/5 (Volume 1)
4/5 (Volume 2)
Warning: Could contain minor spoilers in pictures.
Summary:
How many hours are in a day when you don't spend half of them watching television?
When is the last time any of us REALLY worked to get something we wanted?
How long has it been since any of us really NEEDED something that we WANTED?
The world we knew is gone.
The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility.
An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe causing the dead to rise and feed on the living.
In a matter of months society has crumbled.
no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV.
no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV.
In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally start living.
My Thoughts:
I was expecting it to be a lot scarier and a lot better than it was, not going to lie but I still really enjoyed it.
The art, even though there was no color, was so well done too.

| THE WALKING DEAD, VOLUME 1 |
I've been in a reading slump most of the year, to be honest and I've been reading more graphic novels/comics and even manga.
They're easier to read and if they're short, and they don't take very long to read, at all.
I'll admit, the plot of the first two wasn't overly captivating but that was because I'd already seen the first couple of episodes of the TV show before picking these up so I kind of knew, in a sense, what was going to happen.
If you haven't seen the TV show or had spoilers then I think you will find the plot to be very exciting and different.
I, personally, think I might enjoy the later volumes more but we'll see.

| THE WALKING DEAD, VOLUME 2 |
There were certain characters that annoyed me at times. In fact, I think almost every character annoyed me at some point. I suppose in that situation everyone will go to drastic measures and would be put on edge but the way they always turned on each other over stupid made me dislike a lot of characters for a while.
I recommend this for people who enjoy horror (personally I didn't find it scary at all but some people might) and are fans of graphic novels and zombie related things.
However, this is rated M, but in my opinion, I don't think it's really 18+, but if you don't like stuff like that, it's probably something you should consider before going into it.
I think I'm going to review the walking dead series in pairs so I think the next review will be up once I have finished both volume 3 and volume 4.
I'm sorry, I haven't posted in a while but like I said, I've been in a reading slump, so I think the next few reviews could be graphic novel/manga reviews but there will definitely be reviews on regular books too.
