Book: Beautiful disaster
Author(s): Jamie McGuire
Rating: 3/5

Summary: INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE.

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Review:
This took me a while to work out what I felt about this book. It has been a week and I am now starting to write the review after thinking about my thoughts and feelings towards it. At first I found starting this book really enjoyable, I loved how Abby and Travis were friends and became close. Then latter on they obviously end up together. I didn't enjoy it so much. I found myself cringing with Travis's romantic side, even when he called Abby Pigeon. Before I read this book, I heard that it was like Twilight without the vampires. Now, I see where they're coming from but I found Travis more cringing then Edward. The plot-line was good, I did enjoy the storyline and some of the characters like America and Shepley. Abby was annoying at times, specially when it came to hers and Travis's problems. The ending I felt was completely rushed and it did my heading. I found myself groaning as I read the last few chapters. My favourite part probably had to be when Travis stood up singing to get the attention away from Abby, even though it ended up bringing more attention on them. It was a whole High School musical moment. This book was an enjoyable read at times but the whole romance was cringy and just unrealistic.
