"My name is Eleanor Kerchner.
You can call me the Queen.
I died in 1895.
Now it's time to play."

Doll Bones isn't as scary as it sounds.
It's creepy, yes, but not scary.

It's rated 9+ too so it can't be scary, I guess.

I wanted to read a Holly Black book before The Iron Trial came out by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. I'm so excited!

Anyway...

I actually really enjoyed this book and it was a really quick read with 244 pages.

Zachery Barlow, Alice Magnaye and Poppy Bell
still play with action figures. At the age of 12, they still make up stories to go along with their game.

Until one day Zach can't. His dad, who has been gone for the last 3 years, chucks out his dufful of action figures and leaves Zach hurt and upset.

Zach can't bring himself to tell Alice and Poppy so he lies and says he just doesn't want to play anymore.

Poppy tries to lure him back by saying that she will take her mothers very precious doll out of it's glass cabinet.

The doll who they had started calling the Queen who was locked away in her 'tower' as they liked to call it.

What they don't know is that once you take the doll out of her tower, it's time to play.

-DOLLBONES-

Zach, Poppy and Alice all had their moments when you just didn't really care for them but they all meant well in their own weird way.

Poppy especially, she could be such a brat at times.

But all that aside, I really enjoyed this book and Holly Black's writing style is so cool.

I honestly can't wait to read the book written by Cassandra Clare (one of my favorite authors) and Holly Black (Who's books I need to read more of)

Ellie.
