Review:
Forget vampires. Forget werewolves. Aliens are now the next hottest thing, and, boy, are they hot. Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout is sure to get you falling for aliens, even wondering whether you really have aliens living next door. Our female protagonist of this series is another book lover and book blogger, Katy. She's the new girl, like Bella, moving to a new town where paranormal non-humans live. She also has a bit of a temper, specially when it comes to Daemon, but who can blame her when Daemon is all hot on the outside but a jerk as soon as he opens his mouth? It's not exactly love at first sight for these two, not even like at first sight but being forced together and complications of aliens bring them together. Daemon, our Edward, is the next door neighbour from out of space, an alien known to be called Luxen, with powers that can stop time and levitate objects, as well as controlling light and having a form of light. They come in threes, giving us what is known as the "Cullen's" of this alien species. Daemon, Dee and their dead lost brother Dawson make the Black aliens and then you also have Adam, Andrew and Ash. These Luxen come in threes with names all beginning with the same letter, weird but cool. Dee becomes Katy's best friend and really is the "Alice" of the species, with her tinker bell like way. While the Lux series, mainly Obsidian, is showing similarities to Twilight it is also so much better. It has a fair amount of action, with powers that are so cool and Daemon makes it even better to read. Who needs Edward when you can have Daemon Black? Also Jennifer's writing style has a kind of hotness to it that's appropriate to ya, making it hard to put down. Her writing allows us to see more into what Katy is thinking and feeling, like were following her journey with her. If your looking for a hot paranormal romance, with action and powers, then this is the series you need to be reading.
