Review:
This book was just simply amazing. One of the best books in the series so far and it's the book that takes everything to a whole new awesome level. After the ending of Opal, we are left on the floor, completely shocked and emotional over what happened. The start, though, has a more gripping and serious tone to it, making it gripping to read.
The book is now split up into Katy's POV and Daemon's POV, allowing us to know what is happening on the inside (where Katy is) and on the outside (where Daemon is). She is in fact in Area 51, making it such a laughable but serious place to take. Daemon, seeing his reactions to Katy gone, broke my heart, but seeing him go to rescue Katy made everything so much more exciting and gripping to read. Katy was being tortured, made to fight and going through all the science talks (which can become complicated and boring), but putting in Daemon's POV gave it that excitement to keep going. It was just too good to put down.
I enjoyed how serious this book became, you still had the sarcasm and the fun moments between the characters, but the storyline became to advanced to just be fun any more. The characters developed, Katy growing to become a survivor and a fighter, then Daemon showing his feelings openly with Katy. Archer was then a new character, a character that could have been the bad guy but was lovely and kind to Katy from the start. I do hope Katy takes him to the Olive Garden.
The ending wasn't a cliff hanger of such, but sets up the start of the last book in the series perfectly. The end had me in tears with the sacrifices that were made, but also had me shocked with what was going on, even though I expected it. This book leaves you wanting more.
